Jolly Mae Sawyers, 78, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan, Missouri.
Mrs. Sawyers, daughter of the late George and Lillie (Hensley) Doles, was born May 7, 1932, in Deering, Missouri. She was a cook at Ripley County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Sawyers loved to sew and crochet.
She was married to Robert C. Sawyers, Sr., on June 14, 1952, at San Luis Obispo, California. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1984.
Mrs. Sawyers is survived by one son, Robert C. Sawyers, Jr., of Doniphan and one daughter, Patricia Diane Brown of Hanford, California; one sister, Lorene Manning, of Linden, Tennessee; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Francis Louise Doles, and three brothers, George Edward, Carl Edward and Danny Kaye Doles.
Visitation will begin at noon on Friday, May 21, 2010, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel and burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
