A cousin, closer than my brother. The best! Loved him deeply, and will miss him intensely. But, as his cousin, I am free to say this ... he would not have been the man he was without an amazing wife. Barbara, you gave him the family he was so proud of, and which has become such a beautiful part of my life. I will miss him, but I still treasure you and the family. Howard would want us to be happy together. That would be the best way to honor his life.

Dear Barbara and Family, We were all so very saddened to learn of Howard's passing. Howard was one of the greatest people that I (as well as everyone that knew him) was privileged to know during my life! I never heard a single bad word said about Howard, that's just the kind of person he was! Your loss is ours as well for there could never be a better person than he! Barbara, it has been a long time since we were neighbors growing up but I do know that Howard could never have picked a better wife and soul mate then you - vice versa!! Howard will never be forgotten by all of us that knew and loved him! Our Love and Prayers to you and your family during this very difficult time!

I wrote this for Howard and left it at his sit at Town and Country. Our Friend Howard Everyone who knew you, Remembers you with a smile, When anyone was in need, You would go that extra mile. We were lucky to know you For what time that we had. You always made us laugh, Even when things were bad. Smiling and laughing, Doing your favorite things, Then God takes you back to Heaven, And gives you angel wings. Even though you are gone, On Earth you will stay, In our hearts and our memories, You will never fade away.

To the family, especially Mike and Barbara I want to convey my condolences. I remember when Howard and Dick first came to Doniphan. They lived at what was then Hotel Kobert. My Aunt and Uncle ran the hotel. The two of them worked at Edwards, which at that time was scross the street from the hotel. I used to sit on the porch there and Howard and Dick would often stop to visit coming and going. I recently saw Howard when I was in Doniphan and he had the same friendly smile and reassuring way. I am so, so sorry for your loss. Howard was a wonderful man and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Dear Mike, I just wanted to say to you and your family what a wonderful man your dad was. I was 20 when I lost my husband, Victor Ayers, in 1982. So much of that time was a blur, but one thing has always remained in my memory of that horrible time of my life. Your dad was the sweetest, kindest person God could have sent to help me. I was so lost and confused about the arrangements and ins. and other details. Your dad helped me give my husband a very beautiful service and told me not to worry about money. Those things we could work out later. He was so very kind. And now you have shown me the same kindness with the losses of my brothers and mama. God bless you both Mike. I pray when I depart this world, you will be the gracious man to console my grieving love ones. You are your dads son and my family and this community are a far better place because of the Jackson men. Sincerely, Margi Ayers

Being one of Howards many pesky cousins gave me a unique view of him. Pure admiration ! He proved to be more than worthy of that admiration by living his life with kindness, compassion and honor. What an example he was to me and many others. I know I will see him again........and that we do not grieve as those with no hope! May God cover you - Barb, Mike, Jan, and all Howards loved ones with His loving comfort, and precious memories.

We would like to express our deepest sympathies and condolences to your family. Howard was a unique and kind individual in our eyes. We attended the visitation, however we brought our little man with us. He was only able to take about an hour and half of the line. At that point, we were only about half way though. That shows the nature of Howard; that an entire community showed up to grieve his loss. May god bless Howard and the family.
