Walter Glen Bailey, 90, of Doniphan, died Wednesday October 13, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Bailey was born on November 12, 1919, in Rham, AR, to the late Charles Louis & Lottie (Funk) Bailey. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School. Mr. Bailey was a manager of Consolidated Aircraft Corporation in San Diego, CA and a supervisor of Pellet and Pallet Corporation in Redding, California and was a veteran of World War Two where he served with the 8th Air Force Brown Crew where he graduated from Technical School on January 20, 1940. Mr. Bailey was a member of the Doniphan VFW post # 3485. He enjoyed working in his yard, reading, the History Channel and National Geographic. On November 3, 1987, he was married to Teresita Quijano in Manila, Philippines. She survives. Also surviving are three children, Charles Bailey of Sparta, TN, Beverley Sue Marlin of Klamath Falls, OR & Marilyn Diane Carter of Fortuna, CA. Four sisters; Betty Burk of Aurora, MO, Ethelene Melton of Branson, MO, Bonnie Lee Ellis of San Antonio TX, June Gentry of Monett, MO. Five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, David Leroy Bailey, his parents, three brothers Louis, Loren, Clayton; and six sisters, Cora, Nina, Bea, Elsie, Emma, and Charlene. Visitation will begin Friday October 15 at noon at Edwards Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Friday October 15, 2010, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO at 3 PM, with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital P.O Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
