John Michael Walterschied, 32, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, October 25, 2010, at Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan.
Mr. Walterschied, son of Lewis Edward and Constance (Miller) Walterschied, was born January 3, 1978, in Toledo, Ohio. He was employed by the Current River Sheltered Workshop. John enjoyed going to flea markets where he was a familiar face and was a staunch Democrat, having voted in every election since registering at age 18. He served as a Democratic precinct committeeman for four years for the Pine/Bardley area. Mr. Walterschied was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his mother, Constance Walterschied, and three brothers, Eric Walterschied and Charles Walterschied, both of Doniphan, and Kenneth Walterschied of Memphis, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Walterschied.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Doniphan. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri, at a later date.
