Peggy Ann Murphy, 54, life-long resident of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, December 12, 2010, at St. Anthony's Medical Center in Fenton, Missouri.
Ms. Murphy, daughter of Gordon and Pearl (Tyson) Farmer, was born September 1, 1957, in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was a medical transcriptionist. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and she especially loved her dog and being with her grandson. Ms. Murphy was an active member of the Doniphan First Church of God.
She is survived by one son, Jonathan Murphy of Chester, Illinois, and his fiance' Brandi McCormick; her grandson, Marcus Murphy of Chester, Illinois; her parents, Gordon and Pearl Farmer of Doniphan, Missouri; six sisters, Sherry Brockmier of Festus, Missouri, Kathy Lorey of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Diane Watkins, Kathryn Murphy, Tina Moe and Stephanie Clark, all of Doniphan, Missouri; and three brothers, Michael Murphy of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Perry Farmer of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Terry Farmer of Nixa, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Murphy Gettings.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Doniphan First Church of God. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Brother Larry Bashaw officiating. Burial will be in the Hunt-White Memorial Gardens in Doniphan.
Memorials may be made to the Brenda Murphy-Gettings Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southern Bank.
