Nola June Baker, of Doniphan, MO, died Thursday, February 25, 2021 at her residence. June, the daughter of Walter Franklin and Nola Lee (Whitwell) Payne, was born July 9, 1950 in Doniphan. She had lived in West Burlington, Iowa for many years. June retired from GE and moved back to Doniphan to be near her family. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed taking walks and family gatherings.
On June 9, 1979, June married Lyman Baker, and he survives. Also surviving are two stepchildren, Monika Deatsch of Tiffen, Iowa and Mark Baker and wife, Jackie, of Burlington, Iowa; five brothers, Harold Bliss, Robert (Carolyn), David, Tom (Pam), and Danny Payne; three sisters, Margaret Payne, Judy Swigert, and Becky (Bill) Boshears.
June was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Martin Scott Payne.
Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 2, 2021 with the funeral service to follow at noon. Pastor Ronnie Payne will be officiating. Burial will be in Hunt-White Memorial Gardens.
