Obituary of Mildred Pickens

Mildred Elberta Pickens, 77, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at her residence.
Mrs. Pickens, daughter of Charles and Ila Mae (Shickles) Dudley, was born March 6, 1933. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing games and music. Mrs. Pickens was a member of Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church and Eastern Star Doniphan Chapter #288.
On February 23, 1952, she was married to Leroy Pickens at Piggott, Arkansas, and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James Pickens of St. Louis, Missouri, and Carl Pickens of Piedmont, Missouri; two daughters, Sharon Johnson of Imperial, Missouri, and Karen Jacobs of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Robert Dudley of Doniphan, Missouri; and twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Friday evening, January 14, 2011, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan, Missouri. The funeral service will be Saturday morning, January 15, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Randy Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Towles Cemetery.
