Santiago Vonda Cortez, 20, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at the residence of a friend.
Mr. Cortez, son of Santiago Cortez, Jr. and Yvonne (Cobb) Daily, was born June 27, 1990, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He was a factory worker with Mid-Continental Nail. Mr. Cortez was a member of the Life of God Church in Fenton and attended Logan Creek Church.
Surviving are his son, Carter Dewane Harber of Doniphan; his parents, Santiago Cortez, Jr. of Fenton, Missouri, and Yvonne (and Vergil) Daily of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Maryann Kinworthy of Fairdealing, Missouri, Janet Ward of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Victoria Cortez of Poplar Bluff; maternal grandparents, Bob and Mildred Schafer of Doniphan and paternal grandmother, Juanita Vela of Gary, Indiana.
Visitation will be Friday morning, April 29, 2011, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Doniphan City Cemetery.
