Obituary of Keith Amundson

Keith Harlan Amundson, 55, of Doniphan, Missouri, fought a long and hard battle with Multiple Sclerosis, taking his last breath on July 20, 2015, at his home in Doniphan. Keith was born in Decorah, IA on September 27, 1959 to Harlan and Lorraine Amundson. He attended school in Ridgeway and Cresco, IA and worked various jobs in the Cresco area where he married and had 3 children before moving to Texas and settling down in Doniphan, MO. Later, he married Angel Amundson in 1988, gained two daughters, and worked as a machinist until 2005 when he hurt his hand and found out he had MS. He leaves behing by his wife of 26 years, Angel Amundson. Also surviving are five children: Quentin Amundson, Renee (Matt) Ames and Jolene (Sam) Balto, both of Wisconsin, Shayla Steward (Jaren Allison) of Doniphan and Starla (Ian) Holl of Tennessee; one sister, Lynn (Carl) Walters; one brother Neal (Michelle) Amundson, both of Iowa. He was a wonderful uncle to: Ryan, Nicholas, Morgan, Amanda (Ryan), Melissa (Nick). And he was greatly loved by ten grandchildren: Jacob, Cameron, Haley, Sophia, Brandan, Kylie, Abby, Gunner, Penelope and Finn. Keith fondly spoke about his memories of growing up on the farm in Iowa. Over the years, he loved to coon hunt, as well as, target shoot, hang out at Jerry's Pawn Shop, play cards with friends, preforming restoration work on his dad's Hit and Miss tractor engine, and be surrounded by his family. He loved his family deeply and ensured their well-being throughout his life and even into death. His memory will forever be cherished by family and friends. He is now pain free, in Heaven and "doin' a hundred" A celebration of life service will be held this friday at 2PM at First Baptist Church in Doniphan, MO.
