Virgil Leon Daily, Sr., 71, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at his residence in rural Ripley County.
Mr. Daily, son of Henry Herbert and Doye Louise (Nettles) Daily, was born March 31, 1944, in Corning, Arkansas. He had been an over the road truck driver and had also worked in the timber industry. Mr. Daily had a love for the Colorado mountains and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.
On September 3, 1974, he was married to Vickie Street at Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Virgil Leon (and Yvonne Lynn) Daily !! of Jefferson City, Missouri, Rome David (and Lisa) Daily of Doniphan and Herbert Shane Daily of Colorado; one daughter, Angela Sue Maupin of Doniphan; two sisters, Flora May Tilley of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Stella Faye Chism of California; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Rebecca Daily; 3 brothers, Herbert Daily, Wilbur Daily and Charles Vernon Daily; and one sister, Merldean Daily.
A graveside visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Amity Cemetery near Doniphan. A graveside service and burial will follow at 1:00 p.m.
