William "Bill" Ormsby, 73 year old resident of Fairdealing, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his residence in Fairdealing surrounded by his family.
Mr. Ormsby was born March 14, 1942 in Doniphan, MO to the late Merton and Arlee Ormsby. He was a member of the Center Hill Baptist Church and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a building contractor, farmer, and a lifelong resident of Ripley County.
On March 20, 1965, he married Dottie Brown, in Doniphan, MO. She survives.
Also surviving are a son Eric Ormsby of Fairdealing and a daughter Teresa (Scott) Rowell of Gulf Shores, AL; two brothers B.J. (Wanda) Ormsby and Gary (Pat) Ormsby both of Poplar Bluff; a sister Sharyn Dinwiddie of Camdenton, MO and three grandchildren whom he adored Carrie Cullison of Poplar Bluff and Austin and Logan Ormsby of Fairdealing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Lisa Renee Ormsby, and a sister Frieda Ransom.
Visitation will be Tuesday August 25 from 5-8 PM at Edwards Funeral Home Funeral services for Mr. Ormsby will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Edwards Funeral Home with Bro. Brandon Albritton officiating. Burial will be in the Center Hill Cemetery, with full military honors. Memorials may be made to Center Hill Baptist Church P.O. Box 75 Fairdealing, MO 63939.
