Obituary of Edward Howard

Floyd Edward Howard, 72, of Gatewood, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015, surrounded by his family at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri. Mr. Howard, son of the late Floyd and Nola (Patterson) Howard, was born November 20, 1942, in Doniphan, Missouri. He had retired from General Motors Corporation and enjoyed farming in his retirement years. Mr. Howard liked four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, watching the deer as they played in his yard, and he especially loved being with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of New Home Church. Mr. Howard was a veteran of the U. S. Army and had served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a decorated war hero, having earned the Bronze Star, and will be buried with full military honors. On January 22, 1967, he was married to Judy Goss in Doniphan and she survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Stephanie Bryan of Cedar Hill, Missouri, and Sheila (Scott) Holtswarth of Wentzville, Missouri; 1 son, Mark Howard of Gatewood; 1 sister, Hermmena (Ronnie) Robertson of Doniphan; 1 brother, Aaron (Janet) Howard of Gatewood; and 8 grandchildren, Jordan, Meghan, Lucas, Luke, Lauren, Jeremy, Addie and Garret. Visitation will be Friday evening, August 28, 2015, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Saturday morning, August 29, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Clay Garvin officiating. Burial will follow in the Tucker Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation.
