Laveral Cloral Cowger, 87, of Doniphan died Friday March 6, 2009, at St Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mr. Cowger was born July 12, 1921 at Decatur, IL to the late Cloral & Lillian (Hyllested) Cowger. He attended Springhill Baptist Church. Mr. Cowger was a farmer and later in life became a school custodian. Mr. Cowger was a member of the Doniphan Masonic Lodge, previously in Poplar Bluff, Naylor, & Grandin, and a member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include four sisters, June Rohats of Manteno IL, Carolyn Miskowicz of Fairdealing, RoseMary Frace of Gold River CA & Darlene Jones of Greenup IL; two brothers William Cowger of Chandler AZ & Sidney Cowger of Maricopa, AZ He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Darald Cowger. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday March 9, 2009 at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan, with the Masonic Service beginning at 7 PM. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday March 10, 2009 at Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery.
