Viola Laura Sutton, 95 year old resident of Doniphan died March 15, 2009 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Ms. Sutton was born June 24, 1913 in Ripley County and had been a lifelong resident of Ripley County. She was a former member of the Ponder Church of Christ and was a member of the Doniphan Church of Christ.
Ms. Sutton enjoyed her church, gardening and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson B. and Della M. Jones Sutton; four sisters, Elsie M. Sutton Sisk, Minnie Mae Sutton, Lela Sutton, and Clilda P. Sutton Brenton; one brother, Oris Nelson Sutton.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including special nephews, J.T. Hise and his wife Clediah of West Plains, MO; and Charles R. Sisk and his wife Bunny of Poplar Bluff, MO.
Funeral services for Ms. Sutton will be held at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 18 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Sanders officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery.
