James "Pete" Brooks, 74, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Friday, May 15, 2009, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Brooks, son of the late Arthur and Clytie (Jones) Brooks, was born June 4, 1934, in Ripley County, Missouri. He was a sawmiller in the timber industry. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding four-wheelers.
He is survived by one sister, Christine Skipper, of Doniphan.
Besides his parents Mr. Brooks was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Brooks and Bill Brooks.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday afternoon, May 22, 2009, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel with Brother Larry Earle officiating. There will be a private burial service.
