Shirley Ann Lorance Hanser, 85 year old resident of Gatewood, Mo departed this life Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at her daughter’s residence in Soldotna, AK. Mrs. Hanser was born April 29, 1930 to the late Bernard and Mary Proctor Lorance.
Shirley acquired her RN degree at the age of 50 and worked more than 25 years in the field. She loved her family, her job, and people in general. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Ponder Boosters.
On November 19, 1949, in Kansas City, KS she was married to Joseph William Hanser, who preceded her in death February 27, 2011.
Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Betty Hanser Spell Blume and Mary Elizabeth Hanser; two brothers Edward Lorance and Bernard Lorance, Jr.
Surviving are two daughters, Rose Henry and her husband Chuck of Soldotna, AK; Anna Harris and her husband Keith of Gatewood, MO; one son, Charlie Hanser and his wife Robin of Gatewood, MO; one sister, Rose Marie Lorance Hart of North Carolina; one brother James Lorance of Florida; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hanser will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Friday, January 1, 2016. Burial will be in the Ponder Catholic Cemetery and the family requests memorials be made to the Ponder Boosters, % Anna Harris, Rt. 9, Box 1310, Gatewood, MO 63942.
