Roderic “Rod” O. Medling, 53 year old resident of Patton, Missouri, departed this life Thursday, December 31, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Medling was born April 11, 1962 in Doniphan, Missouri to Jerry and the late Wanda Ward Medling. Rod worked at Ford Groves in Cape Girardeau and loved cars and working on cars, bluegrass music, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Liberty Congregational Methodist Church in Marquand, Missouri.
Surviving are one daughter, Sabrina Fite of Newville, Pennsylvania; his father, Jerry Medling of Marble Hill, Missouri; 3 sisters, JoAnn Riggs and her husband Tim of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; Sherri McMillian and her husband Rick of Sedgwickville, Missouri; Kim Williams and her husband Jimmy of Jefferson City, Missouri ; and 2 grandchildren Zeryk and Aria Fite.
Funeral services for Mr. Medling will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Darrell Shrum and Jamie Hovis officiating. Burial will be in the Ward Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 Friday, January 8, 2016.
