Lina Mae Swindel, 91, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, departed this life Friday, April 1, 2016, at the Golden Living Centers-Brandywood in Gallatin, Tennessee. Mrs. Swindel, daughter of the late William James and Fannie (Few) Ollar, was born May 14, 1924, in Ripley County, Missouri. She had been in delivery/pickup for a manufacturing firm prior to retirement. Mrs. Swindel enjoyed reading and working suduko puzzles and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Doniphan, Missouri. On January 17, 1947, she was married to Wilburn Eugene (Gene) Swindel in St. Louis, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on December 11, 1983. Surviving are 2 children; Virginia (and Ken) Hayes of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Bill Swindel of Seabrook, Texas; 1 brother, Lee Ollar of Doniphan;4 grandchildren, Brian Swindel, Yvonne Leslie, Melanie Smith and Kenny Hayes; and 9 great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Karley, Hannah, Zachary, Michael, Lauren, Molly, Micah and Madelynn. Visitation will take place Monday evening, April 4, 2016, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will start Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Randy Miller and Kenny Hayes, grandson of Mrs. Swindel, officiating. Burial will follow in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
