Esther Marie Windhorst, 96 year old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Southeast Health of Ripley County in Doniphan. Mrs. Windhorst was born April 22, 1920 to the late Frank and Martha Hazelmeyer Knoblock, in Anderson, IN. She had worked as a hairdresser and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Doniphan. She loved cross stitching, plastic canvas, and her doll collection is in the World’s Largest Toy Museum in Branson, MO.
She was married to Carl Windhorst who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were sisters, Stella Anderson and Mary Gwinn; and brothers, Frank Knoblock, Jr. and Gale Knoblock.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Carrie Weisgerber of St. Louis, MO; Charisse Newman of Omaha, NE; 1 son, Robert V. Ligon of Humble, TX; 1 sister Tressa Farmer of Doniphan; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service for Mrs. Windhorst will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Poynor Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Randy Miller officiating.
