Juanita Main, 89, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mrs. Main, daughter of Andrew and Ida (Martin) Richmond, was born January 16, 1927, in Naylor, Missouri. She was a housewife. Mrs. Main enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and tending her plants. She was baptized April 1, 1955, and was a member of the General Assembly & Church of the First Born.
On December 15, 1947, she was married to James Melvin Main in Piggott, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2008.
Surviving are 3 children, Sharon (and Dewayne) Sloate of Doniphan, Brenda (and Terry) Summers of Cedar Hill, Missouri, and Jim (and Mary) Gilliland of Doniphan; 8 grandchildren, John, Theresa, Jessica, Dee, Amber, Nickole, Dale and Vicki; 18 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Roberta DeCelis of Chandler, Oklahoma, Elaine Simmons of Naylor, Missouri; and Lois Godwin of Fairdealing, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carolyn Schneider; a son-in-law, Herman “Sonny” Schneider, Jr.; 2 brothers, Fred Richmond and Louie Richmond; and a sister, Octavia Owens.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2016, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m.in the funeral home chapel with Brother Rodger Bunch officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.
