Obituary of Peggy Sue Skaggs

Peggy Sue Skaggs, 65, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Southeast Health of Ripley County. Ms. Skaggs, daughter of Bill and Velma Marie (Dickson) Bacon, was born August 13, 1950, in rural Ripley County, Missouri. She had been an owner/operator of a service station. Ms. Skaggs enjoyed camping, being on the river, gardening and canning, and she especially loved raising her children. She was a member of the Church of God, Faith of Abraham. She was married to Tom Skaggs in 1968 and he died in 2006. Surviving are 2 sons, Thomas H. Skaggs of Doniphan and Billy Joe Skaggs of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; 2 sisters, Nancy Jenkins of Poplar Bluff and Sherry (and Larry) Mitchell of Paducah, Kentucky; 1 brother, Danny Bacon of Joshua Tree, California; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and her life partner, Steve Young of Poplar Bluff. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Patsy Bruns. Visitation will begin Wednesday morning, July 27, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jim Baggett officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery.
