While we did not have the honor of knowing Don personally, we in the Northwest Steam Society valued him as a member and were impressed with his unconventional and thoroughly engineered steamboat.

My condolences to Sam's (aka Scrappy) family. I really enjoyed getting to know Sam over the years. He was a truly unique person, and will be missed. Deer camp will never be the same without him.
