Dennis Franklin Tipton, 67 year old resident of West Doniphan, died Thursday, December 29, 2016. Mr. Tipton was born September 7, 1949 in Grandin, MO to the late Letch and Lillian Byrd Tipton. He moved to Doniphan in 1975 and loved going antiquing, including gas pumps and signs. He was a car dealer and old car enthusiast.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his Sister, Juanita Knapp; and Brothers O’Dell, Bob, Dale, and Harold Ray Tipton.
He was married to Brenda June Ryan from 1971-1979, and they remained close friends for his lifetime. Also surviving are 2 children, Denise Tipton of Doniphan; and Shane Tipton of Doniphan; 1 brother, Junior Tipton of Grandin; 1 sister, Mable Boyer of Ferguson, MO; grandchildren Trevor, Skyler, and Remington; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Tipton will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 5-8 P.M. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with officiating. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery.
