Veeda Ivalee Bliss, 91, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at her residence in the Colonial Home.
Mrs. Bliss, daughter of Fred and Myrtle (McClaron) Hairston, was born August 4, 1925, in Springfield, Arkansas. She had been a homemaker. Mrs. Bliss enjoyed crafts, particularly crocheting, quilting and doing ceramics.
On January 31, 1942, she was married to James Howard Bliss at Conway, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on September 3, 1970.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, Almos Hairston, Everett Hairston, T. B. Hairston and June Hairston; 2 sisters, Irene Hairston and Freeda Hairston Hoggatt; and 1 grand-daughter, Christy Gail Bliss.
Surviving are 3 sons: James Howard Bliss, Jr. and Charles Everett Bliss, both of Wallace County, Kansas, and Stan Bliss of Doniphan; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon, February 3, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Weskan Cemetery in Weskan, Kansas.
