John Henry Meyers, 81 year old resident of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Saturday, February 18, 2017, in rural Ripley County.
Mr. Meyers was born July 16, 1935, in East Prairie, Missouri, to the late Shelly and Mattie (Cave) Meyers. He had worked at McGees in Pocahontas and had served in the US Army. Mr. Meyers loved hunting and fishing, and was a loving father and grandfather.
On December 8, 1961 he married Mary Gimlin in East Prairie, Missouri. She surivives.
Also surviving are 4 children, Karen (Jeff) Nelson, Dennis (Brenda) Meyers, Scotty (Shonna) Meyers and Corey (Stephanie) Meyers; sisters Ruby Fisher, Ginny Holland, Wilma Jones and Velma Jones; one brother Millard Meyers; 8 grandchildren Jackie (James) Wilkerson, Derek (Michelle) Meyers, Brandon (Jessica) Meyers, Hope (Travis) Lowery, John Robert (Katie) Tyler, Kaylee Meyers, Kelsey Meyers and Trendall Meyers; five great-grandchildren Jordan, Jayden, Levi, Alyssa and Dennis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Shelly Meyers and Billy Meyers.
Visitation will be Monday February 20, 2017 from 5-8 pm at Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. and the Funeral Services will Be Tuesday 10 am at Edwards Funeral Home , Inc. with Bro. Jared Baker officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.
