Gary Thomas Benedict, 77, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Saturday, March 11, 2017, at the Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Benedict was born December 10, 1939, in Hulbert, Michigan. He had retired from the U. S. Navy after serving as a cryptologist and later retired as a food inspector with the Federal Drug Administration.
Mr. Benedict had been married to his wife, Carol June (Robbins), who preceded him in death on July 26, 2010.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and 1 son, Gary Benedict, Jr.
Surviving are one son, Kenny Joseph Benedict of Arizona; 2 step-children, Wesley Popp of Doniphan and Kimberly Kennedy of Queen Creek, Arizona; and 7 grandchildren, Liza Jane, Emmy, Chandler, Zachariah, Adriana, Michelle and Emily.
A memorial service for Mr. Benedict will be held Saturday afternoon, at 1:00 p.m. At the current River Baptist Church.
