Obituary of Alan Lee Morris

Alan Lee Morris, Sr., 69, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, June 8, 2017, at his residence in rural Ripley County.

Mr. Morris, son of Lloyd and Marge (Atkinson) Morris, was born October 23, 1947, In Sandwich, Illinois. He was self-employed in Home Building.  Mr. Morris enjoyed all facets of NASCAR and fishing.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and served his country in the Vietnam war where he earned the prestigious Purple Heart award. 

On March 12, 1968, he was married to Astrid Marx in Berlin, Germany, and she survives.

Also surviving are 2 children:  Peggy (and Gerald) Arnold of Doniphan and Alan (Ami) Morris, Jr. of Sussex, New Jersey; 1 brother, Ron Morris; 1 half-sister, Pat Shell; and 3 grandchildren, Gerald II, Colton and Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Brandon.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.  The funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Ken McAnulty officiating.
