Obituary of Samantha Louise Monaghan

Samantha Louise (Potter) Monaghan, 35, of Dexter, Missouri, died Monday, September 11, 2017, at her residence.

Mrs. Monaghan, daughter of Jim and Sylvia Potter, was born December 30, 1981, in Illinois.  She had been a security guard and was of the Methodist faith.  Mrs. Monaghan was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School, a graduate of Metropolitan Police Academy in St. Louis, Missouri, and a graduate of ITT Tech with a degree in computer science.  Everyone she touched, she deeply loved.

On May 22, 2013, she was married to William “Bill” Monaghan in Poplar Bluff and he survives.

Also surviving are 6 step-children:  Billy (and Paula) Monaghan, Jr., Jeff (and Amber) Monaghan and Brittney (and Mike) Barton, all of Doniphan, Missouri; James (and Sonya) Monaghan and Brian (and Tasha) Monaghan of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and Rob (and Christy) Monaghan of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; her father and mother, Jim and Sylvia Potter of Fisk, Missouri; a sister, Teresa (and Will) Anderson of Houston, Missouri; a brother, James Potter; 3 nieces, K. K., Emily and Tessa; 18 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 3 – 5 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Doniphan.
