Obituary of Thelma Edith Brown

 

 

Thelma Edith Brown, 84, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, October 19, 2017, at the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri.

Mrs. Brown, daughter of Orson and Berda (Jones) McKinney, was born December 22, 1932, in Ripley County, Missouri.  She had been a homemaker.

Ms.Thelma was initially married to William Hastings and he preceded her in death.  She later married Gilbert Brown and he, too, predeceased her.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, William “Billy” Hastings, Jr., and 3 siblings, John Henry McKinney, Faye Darnell and Lois Comfort.

Surviving are 4 children; Lillian Sue Rogers of Mountain Grove, and Gary Eugene Hastings, Terry Lynn Hastings and Gordon Glenn Hastings, all of Doniphan, Missouri; 1 sister, Norma Dudley of Doniphan; 2 brothers, Mansel McKinney of St. Louis, Missouri, and Lindle McKinney of Doniphan; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will take place Sunday afternoon, October 29, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Shirley Cemetery, near Doniphan.
