Obituary of Wendell Knight Brooks
Wendell Knight Brooks, 78, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life, Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Brooks, son of James Edward & Cora (Carter) Brooks, was born July 5, 1940, in Doniphan. He had a career as a highly skilled machinist. He enjoyed building things with his hands and hunting and fishing.
He was married to Cheryl Dunn in Bellville, IL, and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2000.
Surviving are two children: Robin (Mark) Herich of St. Louis and Rhonda (David) Engle of Arkansas; 1 brother Vernon Brooks of St. Louis, MO; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and special friend Molene Chaligoj.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers and sisters Eldeen, Imogene, Cathleen, Doria, Newell, Phillip, Richard, Ernie, and Glenn.
Visitation will take place Saturday morning, September 22, 2018, from 11am-1:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1 pm in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Doniphan.
