Obituary of Mae Bell Woodson
Mae Bell Woodson, 87, of Gatewood, Missouri, died Monday, January 28, 2019.
Mrs. Woodson, daughter of Dave and Pearl (Norton) Nichols, was born October 6, 1931, in Kizer, Arkansas. She had been a homemaker. Mae enjoyed coloring, planting a garden and flowers, shopping, vacations and most of all – being with her family.
On March 24, 1951, she was married to Thurman Woodson in Flint, Michigan, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2005.
Mae was also preceded in death by a son, Clyde Woodson; a grandson, Tony Woodson; a daughter-in-law, Terri Woodson; and a sister, Margaret Barnes.
Surviving are 8 children: Della Woodson, Nita Woodson, David Woodson and Jerry Woodson all of Gatewood; Carolyn Woodson, Billy (and Jenny) Woodson and Glendon (and Lisa) Woodson all of Doniphan, Missouri; and Chirl (and Dave) Huffman of Thayer, Missouri; a brother, Richard Nichols of Warm Springs, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Woodson will start Friday morning, February 1, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Danny Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in rural Ripley County, Missouri.
