Obituary of Susie Louise Stewart
Susie Louise (Hallam) Stewart, 77-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Thursday, August 29, 2019 in Barnes Jewish Hospital-Siteman Cancer Center in St, Louis, MO. Sue was born to the late Edgar and Marie Mathis Hallam on May 18, 1942 in Doniphan.
Mrs. Stewart finished her 20-plus-year career as a compliance officer at U. S. Bank, beginning with the bank while it was named Mercantile Bank and watching and growing with the changes over the years as it went from Mercantile to First Star and to its present name. She enjoyed growing flowers, golf, yard sales, and yoga with Kat. Sue attended the First Church of God, and her church was a priority for her. She also enjoyed spending wintertime in Florida and with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stewart was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi.
On June 26, 1960, Sue married Jerry Stewart in Oahu, Hawaii. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Bruce (Sheri) Stewart of Doniphan and Terry (Lori Taniguchi) Stewart of Torrance, CA; one brother, Tedd Hallam of Metairie, LA; her grandchildren, Kristy Stewart, Amanda (James) Quick, and Colten Dillinger; and her great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Jaysa, Jaira, and Jailey.
Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by one son, Tony Stewart, and her brothers, Bill, Tom, and Bob Hallam.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Stewart will be Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Bashaw officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Towles Cemetery.
Memorials for Sue may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, The American Cancer Society, and The Alzheimer’s Association.
