Obituary of Margi Ayers

 Margi Ann Ayers, 56 of Doniphan, MO departed this life November 2, 2019, in Ripley County, MO.  She was born to the late Fred & Jewel (Pitts) Scallion on September 27, 1963, in Lilbourn, MO.

Margi loved her career in Law Enforcement, where she had formerly served as Chief Deputy with the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department and Sergeant with the SEMO Drug Task Force.  Margi enjoyed gardening, fishing, spending time with grandchildren, playing guitar, and family get togethers.  Margi attended Currentview Church of Christ.

Margi was married to Victor Ayers May 23, 1981, in Doniphan, MO.  He preceded her in death on July 26, 1982.

Surviving are; one son Steven (Nicole) Ayers of Lee’s Summit; two daughters Tami (David) Branam of Doniphan & Stacy (Gerald) Tucker of Grandin; four sisters Mona Scallion and Kathy Harp both of Doniphan, Polly Scallion of Lampe, Karen Ervin of Lilbourn; four brothers Kenneth Scallion of Doniphan, Don Scallion of Tuckerman, AR, Chris Scallion of Cordova, TN and Mark Scallion of Parma, MO;  grandchildren Victor Cates, Vance Cates, John Branam, Logan Ayers, Tyler Ayers, William Tucker, Emily Tucker & Kaila Tucker; with a great-grandchild on the way.

Margi was preceded in death by her parents one sister Debbie Scallion and five brothers Joe Scallion, Dave Scallion, Chuck Scallion, Larry Scallion, Freddie Scallion.

Visitation will be Monday, November 4 from 2-4 pm at the Edwards Funeral Home.  A private burial will be held at a later date.
