Obituary of Betty Frye

Addie Mae “Betty” Frye, 84, departed this life Saturday, February 15, 2020 in Alabama. She was born February 8, 1936 to the late James Franklin and Martha (Johnston) Powell in Doniphan, MO.
Mrs. Frye worked at Vitronic for 17 years. She was also self-employed in the family businesses, Nu-weigh for 13 years and Frye’s Grocery for 20 years.
On November 11, 1962, Betty married Paul Frye in Festus, MO. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Donna (Leotis) Kirby of Doniphan, Martha “Susie” (Sanchez) Frye Austin, and Brad (Rachel) Frye; Elfia (Steve) Pruett, her brothers, Forrest Powell of El Paso, TX, and Robert Powell of Maplewood, MO; her grandchildren, Derrick Kirby and Devin Kirby of Doniphan, MO, Heather Guy of Summerdale, AL, Whitney Gehman of Greenwood DE, and Allison Frye Petracca of Gulf Shores, AL; and seven great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Chester Powell, Herbert Powell, Orville Powell, Montgomery Powell, Austin Powell, Max Powell, James Powell, Albert Powell, and Everett Powell; and her sisters, Hazel MacChesney and Wanda Rosenblatt.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2020 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
