Obituary of Karl Vincent Slattery

Karl Vincent Slattery departed this life Monday, May 11, 2020. Karl was born April 14, 1928 in Chillicothe, MO to the late John J. and Elizabeth Slattery. He was 92. He had five sisters and no brothers. Karl was a mail carrier out of the Gatewood, MO Post Office. He was also talented in many areas being able to weld and fix just about anything. He enjoyed woodworking and building cabinets and could make almost anything people wanted. He really enjoyed working with his hands. Karl was also a skilled mechanic. Mr. Slattery had farmed for 40 years while residing in Chillicothe. In 1949 Karl married Barbara June Malloy in Chillicothe, MO. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three daughters, Mary Ann, Susan, and Carla. Surviving are his son, William Slattery of Boonsboro, MD, as well as six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
