In memory of Richard Wayne Simpson, more lovingly known as Pete, was born on March 21, 1955 to Joseph and Leona (Smith) Simpson in Granite City, IL and passed on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Pete was a kind and gentle soul whom everyone always adored. He was a man of warmth and kindness to everyone he met. One of his greatest joys was spending time at the lake with his family and watching his grandchildren play.
On November 26, 1993 Pete married Christina Amos, his beautiful wife of 27 years. She survives. Also surviving are his mother, his children, Dawn (Ed) Waters, Tammy (Jason) Moore, Tina (Adam) Preston, Brittany (Eric) Collins, Josh Amos, Brandon Amos, and Richard “Ricky” Simpson, Jr.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; as well as many others who loved him dearly.
Pete was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Bob Simpson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Eric Collins will be officiating. Burial will be in Cyclone Cemetery.
