Obituary of Jerry Ray Plunk

Jerry Ray Plunk, 72-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Tuesday, January 26, 2021. He was born September 23, 1948 in Doniphan to the late Elisha and Neva Irene (Roberts) Plunk. Jerry had been a die man for Missouri Forge. He loved being outdoors and appreciated nature. Jerry loved to garden, hunt, fish, and camp. He took special care of animals. His grandchildren and family were especially dear to him. Jerry was of the Pentecostal faith. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On July 10, 1971, Jerry married Sara Ann Adams in Doniphan. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Amy Smith of Keokuk, Iowa, Justin Plunk of Ripley County, Angela Durk of Hamilton, IL, and Neva Costner of Doniphan; his sisters, Betty Esmon of Doniphan, Alberta Moody of Loraine, IL, and Roberta Crook of Quincy, IL; his brothers, Elvis Plunk of Doniphan, Harley Plunk, also of Doniphan, Lonnie Plunk of St. Louis, MO, and Bill Plunk of Pacific, MO; and seven grandchildren and eight grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by one daughter, Crystal Plunk; his brothers, George Plunk and Buddy Plunk; as well as two infant siblings. Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO with full military honors.
