Obituary of Joyce Griffin

Monnie Joyce Griffin, 95, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Friday, January 29, 2021. She was born March 20, 1925 in Bardley, MO to the late Omer “O. J.” and Rose (Dale) Smith.
Joyce had worked at Vitronic until her retirement. She enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, canning, and cooking. She was also talented with crafts and quilting. Joyce was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary #3485 and attended the Doniphan First Church of God.
On October 4, 1942, Joyce married Virgil Griffin in Doniphan. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2002.
Surviving is her son, Monte Griffin of Fort Pierce, FL; daughters-in-law, Patty Griffin and Janice Griffin; grandchildren, Bryan (Dana), Wade (Makenzie), Justin (Joy), Aren (Stacy), and Colton (Stephanie); and great-grandchildren, Mallory, Garrett, Oakley, Owen; as well as many nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by two children, Larry and Jim Griffin; her sisters, Lois Swigert, Edna Lorey, and Mae Raney; brothers, Hanford Smith, Howard Smith, and Jack Smith; and one grandchild, Ritchie.
Visitation will be at noon with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home. Brother Larry Bashaw will be officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
