Obituary of Vergie Mae Tate

Vergie Mae Tate, 85, departed this life on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in Belton, MO. She was born October 10, 1935 in Gatewood, MO to the late John and Shurla (Ruminer) Ross. She attended Gatewood Church of Christ.
In November of 1967 Vergie married George Tate in Reno, NV. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1998. In addition to her parents and husband, Vergie was also preceded in death by her brother.
Surviving are her children, Joanna (Mike) Dority of Belton, MO, Carolyn (David) Martin of Ocala, FL, Dwaine Bartley of Selma, OR, and Theresa (Stan) Vaughn of Lafe, AR. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home on Sunday, August 1, 2021 beginning from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Gatewood Cemetery.
