John S. Turner, Sr., 77, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born January 20, 1944 in Portageville, MO to Hertis and Alma Grace (Kincade) Turner.
John was a farmer and mechanic. He enjoyed riding his tractor and working on old tractors. He loved time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. John was a generous person and gave of his time to assist with a variety of benefits.
Surviving are his children, Spencer (Tracie) Turner of Naylor, MO, Charles Turner and Joie Turner, both of Doniphan, and Tammy (Terry) Yarbrough of Broseley, MO; three sisters, Pat Bailey of Poplar Bluff, Linda LeMaster of Doniphan, and Shelby Brackenridge of Searcy, AR; two brothers, Jack Turner of Dexter, MO and Don Turner of Fairdealing, MO; as well as nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Brackenridge; five brothers, Hershel, Robert, Randy, Ronnie, and Dwayne Turner; one grandson, Colton Turner; and one great-grandchild, Harlow.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home beginning 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Terry Yarbrough and Judy Brandon officiating. Burial will be in Towles Cemetery.
