Purita S. Creutz, 70, departed this life Friday, September 24, 2021 at Northwestern Hospital in Kishwaukee, IL. She was born February 5, 1951 in Zamboanga Philippines to Nicholas and Camilo (Ballo) Salvador.
Purita was a familiar face to many in Ripley County because she was the face you saw when you first arrived at the medical clinic or the voice you often heard when you called due to being the office manager for Samuel Medical Clinic and working in medical records. Purita enjoyed gardening and especially loved orchids. She was avid in working with needlepoint. Purita loved Filipino parties. She liked to watch Olivia’s (her granddaughter’s) ballgames. Purita also enjoyed going on shopping excursions. She was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church.
On November 17, 1970, Purita married William (Bill) Creutz, Sr. in the Philippines. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2005. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ernest Creutz; stepson, Ronald Creutz; three sisters; and two brothers.
Surviving are her children, Rita (Wes) Evans of Coal City, IL and William “Yum” (Lizzie) Creutz of Doniphan; stepsons, Robert Creutz and John Creutz of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Susan Creutz; a sister, Charing Geronima of Zamboanga, Philippines; grandchildren, Hannah Johnson, Sarah Merrick, Olivia Creutz, Bryce Creutz, Carter Evans, and Annaliesa Evans; and great-grandchildren, Myles, Titus, and Oliver.
Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
