Obituary of Lindin Mason Townsend

Lindin Mason Townsend, 64, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Monday, April 25, 2022. He was born July 28, 1957 in Granite City, IL to Lindin R. and Sylvia (Parcus) Townsend.

 

Lindin had been a cab driver. He was an Elvis fan and enjoyed gangster movies. Lindin also enjoyed playing his guitar.

 

On August 24, 1981, Lindin married Marie Batson in Granite City, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his children, David Townsend of Vandalia, IL, Lindin Townsend, Jr. of Grandin, MO, Charles Townsend of Collinsville, IL, and Angela Whitten of Madison, IL; a sister, Debra Nickerson of Grandin; two brothers, David Townsend of Grandin and Carl Townsend of Venice, IL; and eight grandchildren.

 

Lindin was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Townsend.

 

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 2, 2022 beginning at noon with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Grandin-Carter County Cemetery.
