Obituary of Floyd Bridges Lynxwiler

Floyd Bridges Lynxwiler, 81, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born July 29, 1941, in Doniphan to the late Clifford and Lillian (Bridges) Lynxwiler.

 

Floyd was a heavy equipment operator and had owned and operated a local backhoe service. He and his wife, Sue, also established Lynx Gym before his retirement. Floyd was one of the founders of Ripley County State Bank, and he had served on the bank board for many years. Floyd and Sue had also built and operated Hobo’s Campground as well as other Doniphan businesses. Being a Doniphanite, Floyd enjoyed being on Current River, fishing and gigging. He had served in the United States Army. Floyd was a member of the Doniphan Church of Christ.

 

On December 16, 1962, Floyd married Sue Mathis at the Ponder Church of Christ. They had celebrated 59 years of marriage and were looking forward to marking their 60th anniversary. She survives. Also surviving is his son, Steven (Jill) Lynxwiler of Ellsinore, MO; a sister, Iverne Glass of Cape Girardeau, MO; and two granddaughters, Lilly and Lila Lynxwiler.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 24, 2022, in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at noon. Pastor Steve Sanders will be officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
