Georgia H. Pierce, nee Harman, 94, of Belleville, IL, born Monday, May 14, 1928, in Doniphan, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at her residence in Belleville, IL.
Georgia left a legacy of love and wisdom with her family, friends, and community. She was married 73 years to her husband, Weslie. She made everyone she came across feel welcomed and loved. She was very involved in her grandchildren’s lives and their biggest supporter. Georgia loved quality time with her family through fish frys, card games, and dominoes. She was an avid Cardinals baseball fan, loved watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and was always working on a crossword puzzle. You were always guaranteed to get fed if you went to her house, and you never left without dessert, because she made the absolute best desserts. When her children were young, she bowled in the Mother’s Club League at Bel-Air Bowl. Georgia was a Christian and a member of Westview Baptist Church, and loved her flowers and watching birds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Opal, nee Gibson, Harman; sisters, Ruth Schroeder and Verna Rongey and grandson, Daniel Pierce.
Surviving are her husband, Weslie J. Pierce of Belleville, IL, children, Michael W. (Patricia) Pierce of O'Fallon, IL, Gregory Pierce of Kansas City, MO and Pamela (Charles) Roney of Belleville, IL; sister, Judy Braschler of Doniphan, MO; grandchildren, Benjamin (Tina) Pierce, Abbey (Brandon) Humphrey, Lauren Roney, Bryan Roney, Amanda Pierce, and Naema Pierce and 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
