My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mr. Carrens. He was the principal of Doniphan HS when I graduated there in 1967. I have fond memories of him and, fortunately, I never spent much time in his office. He was a good man and I will remember him fondly.

C.D. Carrens was one of the most fair and caring people that I had the experience to grow up with in Doniphan. He was a gentleman and took the time to look after our best interests – even when we didn’t feel as such at the time. He was a great man and is sadly missed by all that knew him for the man that he was! Mrs. Carrens and Family, you had a wonderful husband and father that you so gratefully shared with us! My condolences to you all for your heartfelt loss!

It's sad to lose the icons of our youth - those who somehow taught, guided, coaxed, disciplined, and influenced us to grow into the citizens we become. We don't always realize how or why they do it, but we nonetheless are grateful to their families for sharing them. Blessings and sympathy to the Carrens family at this time. Kim (DHS Class of '80)

Sorry to hear of Mr. Carrens passing. He is a fond high school memory. His sense of humour allowed us to see his kind side. He put up with many antics and excuses but let us know when we were going too far. May God be with his family through this very painful time.
