Obituary of Proctor Edward Hampton

Proctor Edward Hampton, 94-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Wednesday, February 15, 2023. He was born September 16, 1928, in Ripley County, to the late Joe and Minnie (Pickens) Hampton.

Proctor was a carpenter. He also used those skills in making knives. In his pastime, Proctor enjoyed hunting and fishing. Proctor served in the United States Army and was a lifetime member of the local VFW Post #3485.

Surviving is his daughter Debbie (Kelly) Barton of Doniphan; a sister, Opal Lomax, also of Doniphan; his grandchildren, Richard Coleman, Melisa Pulliam, Bryan Barton; and great-grandchildren, Javier, Julie, Jackie, Mya, and Benjamin.

In addition to his parents, Proctor was preceded in death by his children, Melba Coleman, Eddie Hampton, and Kathy Hampton; a sister, Elsie Brown; and brothers, Vernon and Truman  Hampton.

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 18, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Hunt-White Memorial Gardens.
