Obituary of Gary Eugene Hastings

Gary Eugene Hastings, 67-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born March 8, 1956, in Poplar Bluff, to the late William Edmond Hastings and Thelma Edith (McKinney) Brown.

After graduating from high school, Gary served in the United States Army. Later he drove a school bus for the Doniphan, R-I School District. Gary enjoyed tinkering with mechanics, hunting, and fishing.

On June 21, 1985, Gary married Tina Cline in Doniphan. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Starsha Cline-King of Doniphan and Gary Eugene Hastings, II of Dexter; a sister, Susie Rogers of Mountain Grove, MO; brothers, Terry Hastings and Gordon Hastings, both of Doniphan; and grandchildren, Heather, Cody, Nathan, Brieanna, River, and Scout; as well as six great-grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Hastings, and a brother, William Hastings, Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Shirley Cemetery with Heather Hall officiating.
