Obituary of Pat Severs

Patricia “Pat” Colleen Severs, 87, life-long resident of Doniphan, Missouri, died Saturday, April 28, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Mrs. Severs, daughter of the late George and Mexico (Davis) Vaughn, was born December 17, 1935, in Mine La Motte, Missouri. Mrs. Severs was a home healthcare worker for more than twenty years and retired from River Valley In-Home Services in 2021. She was an avid pet lover and quilter.

On July 29, 1954, she was married to George Severs in St. Louis. The couple shared a 56-year marriage before Mr. Severs death on April 25, 2010.

Mrs. Severs is survived by five children: Roger Eric (Debbie) Severs of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Zandra Elaine (Wink) Henson of Fulton, Missouri, Karen Lynne (Joe) McCoy of Doniphan, Missouri, Wendy “Dakota” DeEtte Martinez of Phoenix, Arizona, and Rana Kay Severs of Van Alstyne, Texas; one sister, Betty Wigger of Farmington, Missouri; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Severs was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, six sisters and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan on Saturday, May 6. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial service will follow at Pine Cemetery.
