I'm devastated and have a feeling of terrible discomfort being away from Tara. After living far away in Nor. Cal. I wanted to reconnect with her and had the hardest time staying in touch during an incredibly challenging part of my own life. I miss her deeply and am totally confused and crushed. She was more fun and upbeat than anyone I've ever met. To be honest- I Nate Weldon am still in love with Tara and might need help in letting go.

Tara and I spent most of our time together out in nature. On our weekly hikes, we would find ourselves in worlds of our making, figuring out the why, asking questions, telling stories, and mostly laughing. She wasn’t afraid to feel deeply, to give her everything, to offer her light so that others could shine.
She was one of my soul sisters, one of my best friends, and one of the most beautiful people I have ever known. She loved to explore, to learn more, to try new things. Even if it was hard at the beginning, she kept trying and laughed when she made a mistake. But then would always try again. She was fearless. She fought like a warrior to live. She never gave up. Some souls are too bright for this world. And gosh, she shone.
Tara, I will miss you, more than words can express. And I will love you always, with your laughter forever ringing in my heart.

Tara was THE BEST. A true free spirit and loving friends. One of a kind. Irreplaceable.
Tara and I met while studying abroad in Australia. Alongside our two other roommates, we became a fabulous foursome for six months.
As will happen with time and competing life demands, we lost touch over the years, but had recently reconnected.
I’ll never forget her zest for life, willingness to try anything and dedication to being her true self at all times. She will be missed dearly.

Tara was my friend. We graduated together in 1996 from Doniphan high school. She was always nice to me and everyone else. The last time I seen her was at our 20rh year high school reunion. May you fly high with the angels. I'll see you on the banks of the Jordan River. Your friend Shawn Wilkerson.

My deepest condolences to All of Tara’s family and friends… such a beautiful soul gone far too soon. :,(
I have to tell the memory from high school That always makes me smile…(I know I’m not the only one who remembers this ;-D)
District finals my junior year, her senior year… At that time district finals were played at the Bess activity center at Three Rivers…
The it was neck and neck in the last seconds of the final game…
We had three special plays… 1, 2 & Power…
So the ball is being inbounded and Coach (Blackwell) is on the sidelines, yelling POWER POWER POWER!
The entire team is in position for this play… They inbound the ball and Tara PUMMELS a random player from the opposing team :-?
Of course, the whistle blows because Tara just basically physically TOOK OUT another player who was in NO WAY expecting any kind of contact :-o
Obviously, when we hear the whistle, we all run to the bench trying to figure out what just happened :-\
Coach is just standing there with his jaw dropped, staring at Tara…and asks, “WHAT were you doing!?!” :-[
She has a completely innocent look on her face and seems very confused as to why everyone is staring at the (DEFINITELY NOT FUNNY AT THE TIME )…
Then we see the light bulb come on in her eyes…
And she says “OH! I thought you were saying FOUL HER!”
:-D Bahaha! :-D
And that’s how I will always remember Tara <3 :-D <3

I’ll never forget you, our memories of laughter and fun. You were always so healthy and vibrant. The epitome of beauty and kindness. I loved the way you designed and decorated every home you lived in. You were my chosen family in Hawaii and took care of me like a big sister. We hiked and explored California and it was always so fun every second we were together. I love you and will live my life better because of you and for you.
My song for you Tara
Love Brianna 8/8/2023
She taught me
that when I am lonely,
my smile can bring in a friend.
She gave her Love
It was torn apart
But her heart would always mend
The Butterfly will fly far away
Always elusive
But I know
She lives in the trees
The Butterfly will fly far away
Always searcing
But returning
She lives free
I remember
the days and nights
Growing may cause - some pain
She told me
To live and be free
And to feel every single day
And know it’ll be okay
The Butterfly will fly far away
Always elusive
But I know
She lives in the trees
The Butterfly will fly far away
Still searcing
But returning
She lives free
I remember her laugh
Watching waves
And the moon and stars setting over the beach
We danced and played
I thought it would always be
Love never ends
When my feet
Have landed firmly
On what I choose to finally be
The winds of change
Help me escape
The minds birds cage
The Butterfly will fly far away
Always elusive
But I know
She lives in the trees
The Butterfly will fly far away
No longer searcing
Has returned
She lives free

This is the only photo I have of us to show and it was the last time I was with Tara , it’s a perfect picture of her spirit . I remember that afternoon so vividly now. How special it was to be able to see her after many years of her away from Oahu . we all stayed for hours just talking and didn’t want to leave . We worked together at Turtle Bay Spa for a few years , the best years of my 20 year career there . We became more than friends we became sisters and will forever be grateful that I got the honor to call her that . I love you Tara and will miss you until we meet again !
With all that I have an am I send all my love and light to you all , Tara’s family . ❤️ Aloha , Jen

Tara will always be the Thelma to my Louise (she would get that reference, and we’d cry laughing over the hilarious memory). We were simply our most true selves around one another…from early childhood into adulthood as the “grown-ups” we were supposed to be (another shared giggle). She felt like home to me. And my compass will now always be a little “off”, lost without my soul sister. Even when miles came between us, there was no tearing our bond apart. I missed her across the miles, and I will miss her now. But although I will forever have a hole in my heart, I know that it will now be filled by the shining light of echos of her laughter, and thoughts of her perpetual positivity. Her bright light and strong sense of spiritualism and faith gives me no doubt she’s resting in God’s warm love. We are all better people for having been blessed by Tara’s truly genuine love and laughter.

Tara was one of those rare people who was equally beautiful inside and out. My heart goes out to all of you. Norma was Mom's best friend. We lost Mom in September, and to her dying day her heart was breaking for what Norma was going through. There is nothing worse than losing a child. My prayers are for you all.

I did not know Tara personally but as a East Carter Redbird I knew her on the court as one of our toughest rivals. I loved every moment of it! When you play a game and remember players like her specifically years later, you know they had something special. Maybe I was envious of her tough spirit on the court or all those curls that she got to have, she will always be remembered. I’m so glad that our paths crossed.
