Obituary of Bob Collett

Robert Lee “Bob” Collett, 78-year-old resident of Doniphan, departed this life Sunday, August 20, 2023, in Ripley County, MO.  Bob was born November 5, 1944, in Payneway, AR, to the late William Sawyer Collett, Sr. and Katie Lucille Glisson.  He was a farmer and truck driver.  He absolutely loved spending time with his grandchildren and family; fishing; watching wildlife; working on vehicles; and he was of the Baptist faith. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Betty Faye Smith and Bertha Laverta; brother Roy Collett; and granddaughter Haley West.

In 1978,  he was married to Gail Roberts, who survives.  He is also survived by daughter Yvonda Sue (Jason) Hatley of Doniphan; son Michael (Melissa) Woods, Sr. of Biggers, AR; one honorary daughter, Melanie Smith of Caruthersville, MO; four brothers William, James, Bill, and Troy Collett; grandchildren; Shane (Alex) Woods; Kattie (Manny) Chacon; Levi West; Tiffany (Chris) Reinhold; and great-grandchildren Destiny Coleman; Hayden Coleman; Isaiah Chacon.

Services for Mr. Collett will be held Friday, August 25, 2023, at 2 PM, in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marvin Boggs officiating.  Visiting will begin at Noon and burial will follow in the Hunt-White Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
